Madhubala (1933-1969) was an Indian actress, who has often been called the “Marilyn Monroe of Bollywood”. She was renowned for being exceptionally beautiful and intensely talented, becoming one of the most iconic and influential Indian actors of all time. Madhubala was known for being fiercely individualistic, ignoring all the fanfare and hysteria surrounding her fame with an impeccable work ethic and the desire to live a quiet, private life. She rarely attended even her own film premieres, and seldom any gave interviews or went to award shows. Some of her most iconic films include Mughal-e-Azam (1960), Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi (1958) & Kala Pani (1958).
